The Annotated Wacky Packages All-New Series 3
Base Set Cards
First-Draft Painting
The Topps Vault sold an early draft of the "Coca-Cobra" painting (not used as the basis for the final sticker) for $1,802.77 in an eBay auction which ran from September 14 - 21, 2006. |
"Coca-Cobra" is the first parody of Coke to appear in a Wacky Packages series in the near 40 years since the stickers debuted. It is joined by ANS3's other Coke product spoof, "Croak" (Foil #F1). In the years prior to ANS3, other trading cards and stickers tackled the iconic soda brand:
Crazy Labels: "Joke"
In 1979, Topps' competitor Fleer issued a series of Crazy Labels stickers along the same parodic lines as Wacky Packages, but with generally inferior artwork. "Joke" is number 5 of 64 in that set. |
Package Parodies: "Croaka-Cola"
A spoof of Coca-Cola was printed in New Hamm Productions' Package Parodies, a fan-produced set of 30 stickers that debuted in 2000 and was sold primarily from the company's web site. |
Pranky Products: "Coma-Cola"
A parody of Coca-Cola appeared in Neil Camera's Pranky Products self-produced set of cards. Camera later worked on the All-New Series of Wacky Packages starting with ANS2. |
