The Annotated Wacky Packages All-New Series 2
Base Set Cards
![]() Topps used a rough that Jay Lynch drew in 1973 as the basis for "Salmon Joy." The only element that dates the rough is the "15 scents" price tag. A poor black-and-white photocopy of the rough had been posted for several years on John Mann's Wacky Packages Web Page prior to ANS2, so the title was already familar to some fans when it appeared. (The thumbnail at above left links to the rough at John Mann's page, hosted at wackypackages.org) |
![]() The Topps Vault sold the finished art for "Salmon Joy" for $2727.00 in an eBay auction which ran from August 30 to September 5, 2005. The Topps Vault displayed the framed painting horizontally, rather than vertically as Pound painted it. |
![]() ![]() "Pricelie.com," a parody of Priceline's home page, is found on the back of "Salmon Joy." |
